Visit the Isle of Arran

Why not take a break and experience the wonderful Isle of Arran often refered to as “Scotland in Minature” the most accessible of the Western Isles and the most southerly. As the largest of the islands lying in the Firth of Clyde between Ayrshire and Kintyre it is divided into highland and lowland areas by the highland boundry fault. With a dramatic diversity of geography and wildlife Arran offers the opportuity to experience pleasures such as  climbing one of 4 Corbetts, the largest of which is Goat Fell at 873.5 meters and many walk to sights such as Glenashdale Falls, Machrie Standing Stones, Kings Cave and Brodick and Lochranza Castles.


Glencloy Cottages

Completed in 2010 our two cottages are at the end of a terrace of 5, built on the site of the former milk parlour to Glencloy Farm in a quiet and secluded location.

The Glencloy valley is situated a mile from the centre of Brodick, the main village on the beautiful Isle of Arran and only a mile and a half from the main Caladonian MacBrayne ferry terminal. Perfectly situated the cottages are ideally located for local amenities including the golf course and the leisure facilities of the Auchrannie Spa which offers an indoor swimming pool, sauna and beatuy treatments just 5 minutes walk away.

Chestnut Cottage  (Sleeps 2-4)

This cottage is the perfect hideaway for couples though the facility of a sofa bed means it can accomodate up to 4 guests. Fitted out to a high specification throuout it consists of two floors, with a light and airy open-plan design. Upstairs is a spacious double bedroom with King sized bed and a spectacular en-suite bathroom.  The bedroom also has a single chair bed suitable for a child or 3 sharing. Downstairs is the kitchen/sitting room (with double sofa bed) and a second bathrom. Outside the patio is perfect for breakfaast or lunch outside, midges allowing !!


The Byre (Sleeps 6)

This cottage is aloso fitted to a high specification and consists of 1 large double bedroom, 1 smaller double bedroom and a bathroom upstairs. Downstairs is a twin bedded third bedroom a large light open plan kitchen and sitting room and a second shower/bathroom.

Both cottages offer

  • Off road parking
  • Fully fitted and equipt kitchen includes gas hob, electric oven and grill, microwave, washing machine, fridge, toaster and iron. Dishwasher (the Byre only)
  • TV with Freesat, DVD, plus a selection of books and games.
  • Gas central heating.
  • Wood burning stove (the Byre only)


Bed linen and towels are provided with cots, high chairs available and wood can be purchased by arrangement.

Short breaks are available, no more than one month in advance with a minimum of 3 nights stay.

There is a surcharge for pets (by arrangement) and sofa bed occupancy (Chestnut Cottage only)
